Running a Marathon

Life is a marathon complete with all the pains, struggles, aches, bruises, victories, milestones, smiles, tears, support, and companions. If we try to sprint, we often get burnt out and it takes a while to build up the energy to get going again. But if we start out slow, keep a good pace, look at the scenery, focus on your breathing, and try to enjoy the ride, then we are much more likely to live a happier, healthier, more fulfilling life.

Sometimes we feel like we are running in slow motion and the only thing we can do is pray that a sprint comes up to just pass right through the hard times. However, the slow and steady pace, feeling the pain and biting down hard to get through it is the only way to look back and say, “wow look and what I did, and because of that I am stronger for it.”

Keep going, Embrace the suck. Put one foot in front of the other. Breathe, Scream. Pause and begin. Whatever you do keep going, and watch the pain become a distant memory with the goals, cheers, and pride shining through.
